Job description
Studio Director of Product Development
EA Studios Content, as a part of EA Studios, creates content for some of EA’s most popular connected interactive experiences, including Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Battlefield, Need for Speed, Star Wars and more. This role is a leadership role in our EA Shanghai studio.



LEADERSHIP
Manage and develop a team of Development Directors, Senior Subject Matter Experts, Artists and Technical Artists.
Work directly with game team partners to lock down project engagements, pursue mutual expectation setting and process best practices.
Develop clear team and individual objectives with direct reports and Sr. Leaders
Partner with recruitment in building candidate pipelines and manage partners towards recruitment targets.
Implement production engagement systems and processes to drive product quality, efficiency and delivery effectiveness to align with process across EA Studios Content.
Ensure that Studio resource and capacity plans for future fiscal years align with the financial long range and short range planning.



OPERATIONS
Responsible for long and short range resource planning; ensuring all projects have the right talent mix and leadership.
Responsible for resource and funding gap analysis that drives production success
Drive quarterly Studio operational reviews by reporting Studio key productivity metrics and critical risks / mitigation.
Work with Sr. DDs to ensure that they are tracking to key milestones and are following project best practices.
Ensure proper tracking of deliverables to create project status transparency.
Act as the point of escalation for delivery and production issues with key internal partners and external vendors.
Ensure all aspects of the project are clearly defined, processes are documented, and staff is trained on the workflow.
Validate and audit milestone delivery plans.
Develop, maintain and publish Studio KPI’s for project quality, delivery and team effectiveness.
As part of the COO office, support teams as needed to remove critical roadblocks.
Responsible for hiring strategy, recruitment plans and salary approvals for core talent.
Responsible for local budgets including: Headcount, Team T&E, Training and Team Building.

PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 7 years in console game development or equivalent
High end CG / Art production experience preferred ( Games or Film )
Mandarin and English speaking
Group management experience required, experience managing Sr Managers required
Understanding of distributed development and partner management
MBA a plus
