Product Engineering Manager - SCHOTT - Shenzhen

Job description
The incumbent should have knowledge and experience with Optics, Fiber Optics and Illumination and Imaging

Responsibilities & Tasks:
Generates and negotiates technical specifications with sales and product management, coordinates internal and external development efforts;
Work with sales and product manager to carry out the product development strategy of business unit to increase the market share;
Responsible for technical feasibility studies and defines project development goals (including, but not limit, schedule, cost, quality, scope, human resource, procuitment and scope, etc)
Through initiation, plan, execution and monitor the project to meet the requirement of schedule, budget and quality, responsible for cost center management;
Coordinate in different function team to launch the project from design, development, qualification to mass production in manufacturing site;
Supervises development engineers, plans capacities and assures motivation and capabilities, responsible for hiring and maintaining necessary skill sets
Assures and controls development and project cost and on time delivery of prototypes and zero series products
Supervises transfers of product development results into manufacturing, supervises the preparation of manufacturing documentation in coordination with procurement, manufacturing engineering and quality control
Implements and maintains necessary development processes (including documentation) in coordination with the BU L director of engineering and operations Asia
Implement the function transfer from Japan Saitama to Shenzhen factory.
Technical support to supplier qualification and new equipment verification;
Support the project implemented by other function team, such as MOVE, LEAN, quality system, ergonomics, etc;
Desired Skills and Experience
8-10 years experience in relevant industry
Project management experience
Know how in optics, fiber optics, illumination and imaging
Language skills English, Chinese mandatory, preferably Japanese
