General Job Outline:

As VP, Client Markets Medical insurance, your primary objective will be to grow sustainable and profitable medical insurance business for Swiss Re across China.


Key Areas :


You will build Swiss Re's medical insurance profile to all internal and external stakeholders and be seen as a key point of contact for all medical insurance needs in China. The focus is to generate a strong pipeline of opportunities which also eventually translates to a high win ratio.


Major functions:

External

You will develop and maintain client relationships at a senior level as well as ensure a high level of client satisfaction. At the same time, you will be accountable for leading both client and full market segmentation exercise to completion.

You will identify and pursue all new business opportunities, including all alternative distribution and revenue streams. Your success will be reflected by high ratio of wins which will contribute to growth in medical business for Swiss Re.

As part of the process, you will work closely with key clients on product development initiatives as well as prepare and negotiate reinsurance proposals and creative reinsurance solutions for clients in the region.

You will also be a spokesperson in promoting Swiss Re at appropriate platforms e.g. seminars and industry functions.


Internal

As a lead, you will coordinate with other units to ensure effective delivery of business plan as well as provide necessary inputs and advice to all Business Unit functions to ensure successful top and bottom line results are achieved and business plan targets met.

You will also need to develop and maintain personal contacts within the organization in order to support the identification and negotiation of profitable business ventures. Using your business acumen, you will assess business opportunities critically and identify those worth pursuing.

At the same time, you will support the team in internal projects, research, monitoring and reporting as well as co-operate closely with the client management and risk management teams where a project calls for diverse skill-sets.
Desired Skills and Experience
You will have at least 5 years of experience and seniority in the medical insurance industry. Experience in China markets is advantageous while experience in medical insurance in mature markets such as US/UK/HK/South Africa would also be considered.

You are effectively bilingual in Mandarin and English and is someone who is pro-active, client centric, with a proven sales track record. You possess strong leadership traits with the ability to influence as well as positively impact teams you work with.

A strong medical insurance claims or risk management background would also be advantageous.
