Group Trucks Sales and Marketing APAC is responsible for marketing and sales in Asia and the Pacific region, with global responsibility for UD and the UD Trucks brand.

Position Description

Mission/purpose of the Job

The China JV organization is responsible for Volvo Group truck joint venture business with Dongfeng Motor Group (DFG) in China, including Dongfeng Nissan Diesel Motor Co., ltd (DND), which is up and running and is the platform for the Group value product range (P9103) in China, and Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles Co., ltd (DFCV), which is in the approval process in China after signing of a Master Agreement between DFG and Volvo in Jan, 2013.

Key activities of China JV includes:

•Manage and develop Volvo’s economic interest in the joint ventures, via board representation and active strategic support;

•Coordinate common synergy projects between the Volvo Group and the JVs;

•Being the interface between the JVs and Volvo Group organizations such as GTT, GTO, etc.

The Business Controller contributes to the financial processes for Truck Joint Ventures by managing monthly estimates, investment forecasts, and financial plans and by preparing material to support the management. The position also holds the responsibility of securing the accuracy and completeness of the monthly closings and applicable reports which include close cooperation the finance departments in our truck joint ventures. The Business Controller will also actively support and participate in various projects between the Volvo Group and our truck joint ventures.

A prerequisite for success in this position is accuracy, ability to work towards fixed time plans and to develop and maintain an effective cooperation with different functions within the Volvo Group as well as with the joint venture partner in China.

Scope and influence

Scope

Influence

Authority to take decisions in accordance with China JV’s authorization policies and guidelines and the local legislation requirement.

Interactions with finance teams in DFCV and DND, Finance & Control APAC and AB Volvo, as well as GBS Finance & Accounting team.

Key responsibilities/Accountabilities

1. To prepare estimates, investment forecasts, financial plans and ad hoc analysis

2. To control the quality of monthly closings and timely delivery of relevant management reports

3. Contribute to alignment and integration of our joint ventures with respect to financial policies and procedures

4. Efficiently cooperate with the different functions within AB Volvo, APAC, China JV and GBS

5. Support projects with financial competence

6. Support our truck joint ventures in developing their finance functions with regards to processes, system solutions and competence

7. Monitor adherence to financial policies and procedures in our truck joint ventures

8. Prepare, review and provide feedback to CJV management in business review process to ensure proper focus on the key areas of concerns

9. Secure high quality in relevant financial reports and Volvo Group reporting

PERSONAL PROFILE

Educational and/or training qualifications and certificates

• University degree in relevant financial field(s)

Experience and knowledge

• Proven experience within the Financial Reporting and/or Business Control areas, demonstrating a strong track record of professional achievements for at least 5-10 years

• Experience from working with the BCS, BPS systems and the BEX tool as well as proven skills in Excel

• Good understanding of the Volvo Group and its processes

• Experience from Asia is an advantage

Technical/functional/language skills

• Excellent communication skills in English both written and verbal. Advanced in Mandarin written and verbal will be qualifying. Additional language is always an asset.

• Strong personal credibility, integrity and creativity.
