Job description
Eaton, Power Distribution Division, Electrical Sector, now has an opening of Operations Director, located in Shanghai, China.
Reporting to the General Manager, Power Distribution Assembly Division, Asia Pacific, the Operations Director, Power Distribution Assembly is to lead SCM resources synergy and cost efficiency, to develop strategic direction and lead key manufacturing processes to ensure production objectives are met .
The incumbent will lead the implementation and execution of lean work cells to ensure a safe work environment, maximize profitable growth, drive quality improvements, provide premier customer service, develop a technically qualified work force, and reduce operating costs, inventories and lead times through continuous improvements by utilizing the framework of the Eaton Business System (EBS), while championing the application of lean, employee involvement, and employee engagement .
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A. Deploy and lead various operational initiatives related to PDA vision, strategy, profit plan & strategic plan alignment and PDA goal expectations
B. Provide directions, oversight support and guidance for end to end supply chain operational excellence, including Eaton Business System, Eaton Six Sigma and MESH
C. Develop and provide coaching to the manufacturing & functional organization
D. Establish the continuous improvement culture through various Eaton tools and processes
E. Provide direction and oversight to Quality Operating System & Functioning
F. Direct and create, in conjunction with Global Commodity Lead, sourcing strategies that significant cost savings for the division for direct materials
G. Identify key strategic initiatives for margin improvement through manufacturing rationalization strategies that align resources and reduce capital intensity
H. Select and manage directions for key strategic suppliers
I. Work in partnership with Business Units to develop plans to meet Eaton Business goals
J. Creation and execution of distribution center /network strategies and services in line with business unit/sales/marketing/product line requirement
Desired Skills and Experience
- Ten plus years’ experience in multiple operations functions in multinational company in the industry.
- BS in Engineering/Technology required, advanced degree in Engineering/Business preferred, additional post graduate academic studies in operations management a plus.
- Significant management experience in a multi-national, matrixed company, which goes to market through multiple resources.
- Strong relationship competencies(Leveraging Resources, Vision and Purpose, Strategic Thinking, Accountability).
- Strong ability to influence and manage matrix resources.
- Ability to drive change and continuous improvement, must be highly knowledgeable in Lean, Six sigma.
- Strong problem solving and creativity skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Electrical/Mechanical industrial experience.
