Purpose and Objectives
SAP High-Performance Analytic Appliance (HANA) is a data source agnostic in-memory appliance that enables organizations to analyze business operations in real-time based on large volumes of data. SAP Consulting Services is looking for experienced Data Services consultants in the area of HANA. Role: Data Services Consultant
The Data Services consultant will have extensive knowledge and experience in implementing Business Objects Data Services. The Data Services Consultant will be responsible for the design and development of robust, high quality Data Services applications for data migration, data cleansing and data profiling initiatives as well as data ware house design, modeling and implementation for our HANA customers.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and advice to SAP Customers, Sales Executives, Pre-sales and Solution Architect resources on the data approach to HANA opportunities.
- Gathering business requirements from key stakeholders and translate them to a comprehensive data solution design using one or multiple products in SAP’s EIM group of products.
- Determine the size and scope for a suitable data solution in HANA projects based on the identified business requirements.
- Leverage knowledge of data warehouse and software development methodologies to contribute to the overall planning of projects by recommending approaches, identifying resources, and developing timelines.
- Build ETL architecture and provide guidance to ETL developers on the best practices to handle high volumes of data
- Provide knowledge transfer to IT users.
- Develop and foster a collaborative working relationship with clients.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, SAP’s offshore and partner consultants to develop consulting and project methodology, techniques, tools, and solutions.
Required Skills
- Proven ETL/ELT/EAI skills.
- Current skills in SAP Business Objects Data Services.
- Experience in designing, implementing and managing Data Integration/Data Quality solutions.
- Ability to learn new data integration/replication technologies that are in SAP’s portfolio
- Good knowledge of application development.
- Proven ability to develop business solutions that leverage business processes in conjunction with technical development.
- Experience in preparing technical design documents.
- Up to 100% travel may be required.
- 4+ years experience in development Data Integration and Data Quality applications.
- Recent experience installing and configuring Business Objects Data Services, other EIM Business Objects product family (desirable).
- Experience with using SAP ECC and BW as source and target with SAP BOBJ Data Services.
- Experience in Data Migration methodologies, specifically around legacy to SAP migration (desirable).
- Experience in Data Warehousing projects.
- Experience in modeling Data warehouses (physical and logical).
- Experience to write scripts and complex SQL statements.
- Knowledge of Inman and Kimball architecture.
- Experience in performance tuning of ETL and data models.
- Knowledge of the Oracle RDBMS, Teradata, DB2, and or SQL server.
- Experience in EIM Architecture, Data Migration (desirable), Data Profiling and Data Quality.
- Experience with Business Objects Data Services, Data Integration, Data Quality and Data Quality Management.
- Experience in areas of using interactive debugger, setting up of error handling and audit.
- Knowledge of Master Data Management and SAP MDM product (desirable)
- Experience in a similar role (must have proven consulting and client facing experience)
- Business Objects certifications – Data Services (highly desirable)
- Ability to understand and implement different project and development life cycle methodologies.
- Experience with other ETL tools (desirable).
- Understanding of SAP ERP Master Data concepts, integration and best practices (desirable).
