Job Description
Manages product portfolio and its associated P&L including Market analysis, roadmap definition and funding, and marketing activities designed to increase product sales growth and expand market share. Oversees strategic planning, development and coordination of all portfolio and product definition activities as well as the marketing communications programs to promote the sale of company products and further the company’s sales objectives. Develops and implements marketing policies, programs and activities related to market research, marcom and promotion, product/brand management and product development and pricing. Identifies, evaluates and resolves business issues, manages budget and provides leadership to the Marketing function. Supports and guides the efforts of others in the achievement of the strategic and operational objectives of the broader business team.

Principal Accountabilities

Directs the efforts of others in the achievement of the strategic and operational objectives of the group.

Manages the hiring, staffing and maintaining of a diverse and effective workforce.

Responsible for career development/planning, performance and pay discussions of team members.

Drives LOB strategic initiatives in emerging or established markets that present large opportunities for Dell’s LOB, including conducting

research studies and developing comprehensive marketing recommendations for the region.

Develops marketing campaigns, evaluates marketing plans and develops strategies to respond to changing market and competitive conditions.

Communicates and translates Dell vision/strategy to staff.

Responsible for executing on functional and business goals for the group.

Addresses problems across functional areas of the business.

Responsible for meeting budgetary goals and objectives.

Manages the marketing mix and sales enablement such as the preparation of sales material, controlling marketing communications programs and recommends media best suited to sell products or services.

Manages outside vendor relationships.

Applies broad knowledge of company’s product/service capabilities and competitive environment to identify new growth areas, new technology and emerging product/service opportunities.

Oversees the analysis and evaluation of key market statistics and customer requirements to define product strategies and identify product opportunities to expand marketshare.

Evaluates in-depth market analysis and leads business case for optimization of existing products/solutions alternatives and/or to create the next generation of new products.

Uses technical expertise and extensive industry experience to formulate product strategies and identify new product opportunities.

Provides direction and guidance for operations, administration and results for a major department or multiple departments within a function or work area.
Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning.
Collaborates with subordinate leadership to set strategy and business objectives.
May influence the strategic and/or long-term focus for the function.
Provides leadership and direction through lower- level managers.

Implements tactical and strategic change through subordinate managers.

Qualifications

10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

8+ years leadership experience.

Undergraduate degree and 10+ years relevant experience or Graduate degree and 8+ years relevant

experience.
