BASED IN SHANGHAI
The Director, Solutions Delivery will be responsible for delivering all offshore engagements and managing the Development, Testing and Support offshore delivery businesses for China. In addition he/she will be responsible for mentoring the Global Technology Centre China Lead. This position will have a direct impact of the Global Delivery Model (GDM) of TCIS including building the competency to implement the GDM effectively. He/she will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with TCIS' UGS pre-sales team, theater sales and delivery leaders and (as needed) with external customers to understand customers’ business needs, and ensure solutions and services delivery requirements are met. This is a visible and key leadership role with direct customer and business impact. The incumbent will lead a team of management direct reports. This is not just a “reactive”/delivery role; rather, it will also be measured on ability to grow the business and help grow UGSC’s share of TCIS business.
Key Responsibilities
The Director, will be responsible for Engineering Management Support of GTC China function and will include the following:
- Provide mentorship to the GTC China leadership team to develop a world class leadership capability for GTC in China.
- Work closely with GTC China Engineering Director and provide the support required for various GTC initiatives in China.
- The Director will be responsible for Business Management of TCIS UGSC Services function and will include the following:
- Work closely with TCIS GDM Lead in defining the GDM for China based solutions and services.
- Manage the implementation of Global Delivery Model for China working closely with the TCIS GDM Lead.
- Manage the Development, Support and Test businesses and delivery functions.
- Maintain strong relationships with TCIS UGS Presales team, theater sales and delivery leaders and (as needed) with external customers to understand customers’ business needs, and ensure solutions and services delivery requirements are met and in line with enterprise strategies.
The Engineering Director, UGSC Solutions Delivery will be responsible for Delivery Management of TCIS UGSC Services function to include the following:
- Ensure delivery of Development, Test and Support projects on time and budget with high quality and customer satisfaction
- Create and maintain packaged services for delivery of Development, Test and Support work. Leverage packaged services with theaters to aggressively promote and grow UGSI businesses. Ensure processes are in place for quality execution. Have an established governance model and plan (tactical/strategic).
- Ensure implementation of SDF for all TCIS Services programs and take TCIS UGSC Services team to be CMMI L3 compliant by 1Q2012 and then to CMMI L5 in 2013.
·Resolve internal and external problems in a quality and consistent manner. Respond quickly to conflict and communicate resolutions clearly to all parties involved.

This role will be a change agent throughout the organization and properly position the organization for change. Communications to staff at all levels is critical along with the ability to create a favorable work environment that encourages open communication throughout the organization. Desired Skills & Experience
Required
- 10-15 years IT offshore delivery in a key leadership role with large global SI, providing operations and delivery oversight for multiple clients.
- Evidence of rapid career progression. Experience in starting and rapidly growing new consulting practices in such an environment.
- Experience managing direct staff numbering in the hundreds delivering multimillion dollar engagements for customers in all continents
- Experience living in and managing a substantial offshore consulting practice in one of the larger markets such as US, UK or Europe a plus
