Job Description
The Business Development Director is instrumental to the implementation of our China strategies to realize their full strategic and financial potential. The role requires the candidate to have an in-depth appreciation of the China technology landscape and is able to translate that knowledge into actionable, investable opportunities that are aligned with our strategic goals. He/She will need to lead a team to develop and implement the engagement plan to realize these opportunities in the Greater China ecosystem. He will lead the development of the business cases for the identified opportunities and initiatives and achieve buy in from internal and external stakeholders. To achieve the above, the candidate will need to work closely with our government relations team such that our portfolio is aligned with key government policies and initiatives to maximize the impact of our investments.
Key Responsibilities
Identify China based technology, investment and business opportunities that are strategic to ARM
Develop business case and drive engagement plan around new opportunities in Greater China ecosystem
Maximize synergy with divisions to ensure we realize full strategic and financial potential from ours investments
Partner with government relations teams to align investments with government policies
Participate in China’s strategic standards bodies and alliances to influence emerging industry directions
Lead activities for key industry and GR platforms such as China Mobile Computing Alliances, etc.
This position will be part of a newly established strategic development team comprising of other functions including strategic planning, government relations and strategic investment. You will be a highly motivated individual who is a strong communicator, a team player and has a strong aptitude in developing positive working relationships both internally and externally of the organization. This position will report directly to the EVP / President Greater China and lead a team.
Education & Qualifications
University degree in Business, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent, at least 10+ year relevant experience
Preferred: Masters, MBA

Deep technology industry experience and domain expertise
Strong domain experience and relationships
Extensive Chinese semiconductor industry ecosystem knowledge
Extensive knowledge of the Global and Greater China technology ecosystem
Recognized and respected by local industry or government stake holders
Ability to navigate at China speed and understand pitfalls such as regulatory issues
Excellent relationships with key players in the Greater China ecosystem
Demonstrable strategic awareness and ability to analyze market dynamics and technology trends
Track record in developing complex strategic business cases and drive to successful results
Excellent interpersonal communication skills in English and Chinese
Ability to hold his/her own at the executive committee level as well as Chinese executives and/or government officials
Experience with global companies as a strong team player
Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and get the best out of people across an organization
Proven track record as a go getter
A self-starter
Excellent influencing skills
Desirable Skills & Experience
Understanding of/or ability to grasp complex technology concepts at times to low level details
Working knowledge of ARM IP products and our global business
