Job Description
The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader responsible for design of a first-of-a-kind robotic assembly platform comprising a high-speed assembly robot; multi-zone electro-adhesion tool and tool controller; robot guidance; inspection vision; man-machine interface with augmented reality; computer-aided manufacturing interface and web services. As part of a cross-functional Team based in Santa Clara and in China, the successful candidate will lead a group of six engineering staff on a rapid timeline to both produce and deploy the platform at key customer sites in mid-2016. The initial design work will be conducted in Santa Clara in collaboration with the core technology development team based there.

The successful candidate will have a track record that demonstrates an ability to develop industrial strength, embedded, mechatronic solutions in a lean development environment. The successful candidate will have 7-10 years of experience as a developer and leader with a skill set comprising:
Proficiency and demonstrable leadership in the development and commercialization of high-speed mechatronic solutions for mission-critical factory applications. Experience in designing high-speed mechanisms—including motor/encoder, transmission and servo drives—is a must.
Skilled at building a supply chain for high-volume production of mechatronic platforms.
Skilled at facility development relating to engineering design, prototype fabrication and early production.
Good written and oral communicator—fluent in both English and Mandarin.
