Director - Food Safety - McDonald's APMEA - Shanghai

Job description
Provide overall leadership to ensure McDonald’s food safety standard and policies are comply with the country laws & regulations and system (global and regional) expectations for suppliers and distribution centers in China
Understand new development on science and technology related to food safety practices in the areas of food production and distribution
Stay current with science, technology related to food safety, and relevant regulations in China.

Collaborate with colleagues within the Food Safety Department, Quality Systems, Legal, Corporate Affairs, and others to establish company’s food safety standards and procedures based on the most current Chinese laws & regulations and system expectations
Participate in collaboration with food industry associations, government and academia to advance science-based China National food safety standards
Design and influence key internal stakeholders, suppliers, and distribution centers on food safety strategies and ensure compliance to national food safety laws and regulations
Develop talents in the areas of science and technology related to food safety

Desired Skills and Experience
Proficient in both Chinese and English.
Self-motivated and results oriented.
8+ years of food safety or supplier management program experience required.
Experience in the food production, or related industry.
Bachelor degree is required and Master degree in relevant major (Food Science, Food Microbiology, Toxicology, Food Engineering, etc.) is preferred.
Strong project management, communication, and influencing skills required.
Demonstrated ability to understand Chinese food safety laws and relevant regulations and have good network within the food industry.
Believe in collaboration and team work within the organization.
Have participated in Food Safety collaboration with professional associations.
