Job description
The Beijing Representative Office of the World Economic Forum was established in 2006. Its objective is to integrate the foremost business, government and academic leaders from the Greater China Region into World Economic Forum communities, activities and initiatives.
The Beijing-based team is involved in all aspects of relationship management, community development and projects with special focus on the region. Additionally, the office leads the design, development and delivery of the Forum’s Annual Meeting of the New Champions held in Dalian and Tianjin.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and manage World Economic Forum relationships in the Greater China Region, and integrate leading business, academic and government stakeholders into Forum initiatives and activities
• Manage the local team of 25-30 people (8-10 direct reports), and guide cross-functional initiatives by engaging peers from World Economic Forum headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, and other offices
• Oversee business development efforts in alignment with the World Economic Forum’s strategic objectives, and lead the development of region-specific value propositions for business
• Be the primary contact person for central and local government partners and, in particular, facilitate the engagement of government leaders in World Economic Forum initiatives and activities
• Serve as the Forum expert lead on all issues related to the region, including through close engagement with academic and think tank experts
• Develop relevant and innovative projects and initiatives for the region through engaging the World Economic Forum’s various communities
• Lead the development and delivery of the Forum’s Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Tianjin and Dalian, taking overall responsibility for relationship management with Chinese partners
• Ensure overall compliance of the Beijing Representative Office and its activities in accordance the World Economic Forum code of conduct and with local financial and legal regulations.

Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications and Skills
• Excellent university education, Master’s degree or higher in international relations, business administration, economics or other relevant field
• Minimum 15 years work experience in the private and/or public sector
• Team management experience of at least 25 people
• Proven track record of working in a matrix organization
• Successful relationship management with a variety of stakeholders in a government, business and public policy environment
• Experience working in a multicultural and international environment, Asia/China work-experience desired
• Outstanding negotiation and interpersonal networking skills
• Fluency in English, knowledge of Mandarin would be a plus
