Senior Director - Compliance - Qualcomm - Beijing
Job description
The Compliance Director will oversee the corporate compliance function as it relates to Qualcomms business in Greater China and Taiwan. The Compliance Director will function as an objective professional who reviews and evaluates compliance issue within Greater China and Taiwan. This person will ensure the Chinese management team and employees are in compliance with all applicable rules and regulations, including the FCPA, UK Bribery Act and local anti-bribery statutes. Further, this person will reinforce a culture that prioritizes ethics and compliance, and ensures company policies and procedures are followed, including the Qualcomm Code of Business Conduct.
Responsibilities
Provide employee training on anti-bribery statutes FCPA, UK Bribery Act and local statutes.
Implement Qualcomms Audit Committee Recommendations regarding Chinese compliance requirements.
Conduct internal compliance reviews to ensure that compliance policies and procedures are followed.
Conduct or assist with internal investigations of compliance issues.
Assess compliance or operational risks and develop risk management strategies.
Coordinate the China Compliance Committee with senior executives.
Provide employee training on appropriate business conduct and regulatory requirements.
Utilize IT systems and data analytics to enhance compliance program.
Consult with legal, finance, audit and HR professionals to address compliance issues.
Work with senior executives in promoting and implementing a culture of compliance.
Provide assistance to internal and external auditors.
Raise employee awareness of internal reporting tools such as the Qualcomm Helpline.
Verify that all regulatory policies and procedures have been implemented and documented.
Basic Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in business or law from a respected university
Graduate degree in business or law from a respected university
Ten years of compliance experience
Familiarity with legal, operational, financial and human resource procedures and regulations
Familiarity with FCPA and anti-bribery statutes
Technology experience and exposure to business with an engineering driven culture
Knowledgeable and current on issues of corporate compliance and disclosure
Experience with strategic transactions (M&A and related activities) and business integration
Ability to work collaboratively and drive desired behavior through constructive influence across multiple departments.
Strategic thinker with good business judgment
Knowledge of the Chinese business environment
Fluent in Mandarin native speaker
Highly ethical
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Executive presence and diplomacy skills
People-oriented
