Brand Manager - Newell Rubbermaid - Hongqiao Shanghai
Job Purpose:
Accountable for launching new brands and delivering brands line top line sales and gross margin. Manages a brand to build consumer demand, market share, sales, and profitability grounded in deep consumer, product, and market understanding. Leads brand and product portfolio management, integrated marketing planning, and pricing management. Works collaboratively across a cross-functional team to recommend brand strategy, develop and commercialize a new product development pipeline, and drive P&L results. Managers with direct reports are responsible for coaching their employees to meet performance goals and develop skills.
Job Responsibilities:
Translates business and brand needs into a prioritized research list
Explains business needs to solve and participates in research
Recommends product line and/or category long-term strategies
Participates in setting global brand positioning and develops global brand style guide
Leads a cross-functional team to create a robust pipeline of new products; write concept statements and build new product business case
Works with Director to develop the commercialization plan
Recommends new product list price. Estimates dead net price and impact on profitability
Manages price on existing products
Manages annual situation assessment; recommends marketing objectives and strategies
Works collaboratively to develop integrated marketing plan; leads development of collateral, creative guidelines for new products, and marketing programming
Recommends financial goals for area of responsibility; accountable for delivering top line sales and gross margin; recommends actions to close gaps.
Evaluates marketing campaigns and recommends ROI improvements
Assigns employees projects and coaches to develop their skills; manages overall ‘day-to-day’ operations of the brand and business
Acts as mentor to junior levels and helps attract, develop, and retain marketing talent
esired Skills and Experience
Requirements:
Four-year college degree; MBA preferred
At least 8 years of working experience with 4+ years of marketing/brand management work experience
Demonstrated track record of business results in brand management, channel management, consumer insights, and marketing communications
Experience with concept and creative development process (new product development) and program execution
Experience of working in a multinational FMCG with a focus on brands meeting consumer needs
Fluent in English/Mandarin in both writing and speaking
Has strong analytical skill
Has strong team leadership skill
Has good communication/presentation skill
Can manage complexity/deal with ambiguity
