Job Description
Reporting to the China General Manager, Vehicle Group, the National Sales Director, Truck will direct truck China sales activities for assigned sales professionals to achieve performance goals in accordance with marketing and sales plans.
Also to conduct in-depth research and analysis for truck components product applications in China market and identify business growth strategy, build close relationships with existing and potential customers to clearly define their technical, quality, delivery and financial expectations, and forcefully communicate these through the organization in order to achieve customer satisfaction and achieve new business growth target in strategic plan.
Essential functions are:
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis for truck components product applications in China market, including industry structure, customer and competitive products
- Identify business growth strategy, support the development of new products and product improvement
- Lead effort to achieve target market share at target margins price, achieve sales and profitability target for vehicle China business
- Customer account development and maintenance including management of application engineering resources, guide and monitor the development and maintenance of customer relationships with respect to all field sales activities
- Manage key account activities of the sales/marketing organizations, including defining structure and driving continuous improvement and accountability
- Lead long-term product plan initiatives to meet market needs
- Develop customer credit policies and manage credit program to meet A/R and sales targets
- Identify and address management tools, training needs and performance issues that are limiting the effectiveness of the sales team
- Support major initiatives such as MESH, ELS, EBEA, TS audits, business reviews, Strategic Planning, OCA, Profit Planning and product line transfer as needed
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, and corresponding understanding of engineering principles (mechanical and/or electrical)
- Ten plus working experience with more than five years’ management experience
- Knowledge of Chinese trucking and equipment component markets
- Strong people management and project management skills with respect to sales and applications engineering
- Knowledge of sales, credit, warranty, and other systems and policies in the Chinese component market
- Financial background to support pricing, credit, warranty, and other policy development
- Knowledge of distribution and service strategies available in China market
- Experience and ability in managing, training, and developing personnel to prepare them for advancement
- Desire to learn new technical knowledge and management approaches
- High personal integrity and strong commitment to ethical behavior
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent hands-on PC-based computer skills: word-processing; spreadsheets; databases; presentations
- Excellent spoken and written Chinese and English
