Position Description:SunGard Global Services combines business consulting, technology and professional services for financial services firms, energy companies and corporations. Leveraging SunGard's global delivery model, more than 5,000 employees worldwide help customers manage their complex data needs, optimize end-to-end business processes and assist with systems integration, while providing full application development, maintenance, testing and support services.
Job Overview:
Senior finance position overseeing the financial functions of all SunGard operations in China. Responsibilities include developing financial plans and policies, overseeing accounting practices and procedures, and managing the organization’s financial reporting relationship with the parent company. This executive will ultimately be responsible for managing an organization of more than 25 employees across the accounting, finance, facilities, administration, contracting, and purchasing functions. This executive is also a key member of the China management team instrumental to continual growth and success of SunGard in China.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Drive business growth by being a strategic business partner to local management team. Analyze and guide performance, explore acquisition candidates and drive continuous improvement. Analyze margins and profitability. Make recommendations for improvements and present results.
* Be a champion to assure compliance with local laws and company policy. Assure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley, FCPA, Anti-trust and General Business Rules and Conduct of SunGard
* Manage results presentation to Segment Financial Officer, Corporate office and external auditors (PwC), with detailed quarterly analysis provided as part of the internal control process. Prepare key operations reviews to highlight financial updates, metrics, and scenarios for senior management to present at strategic meetings with various Segment presidents and financial officers. Work with accounting systems to assure all revenue and expenses are properly recorded by region and business unit.
* Review contracts (customers and vendor) to ensure revenue and costs are properly accounted under SunGard rules. Provide assistance to the sales and legal teams in structuring and negotiating new contracts and addendums concerning revenue recognition treatment for software license and services contracts. Assure adherence to SunGard revenue recognition guidelines
* Manage the P&L and Balance Sheet of operations in China. Manage the entire financial process for the region including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting for the monthly/quarterly/annual close process as well as statutory, Sarbanes Oxley and compliance filings – identify P&L, Balance Sheet, capital expenditures and headcount issues. Assure all regional financial data properly consolidates. Settle intercompany accounts
* Champion and coordinate the standardization of SunGard processes including the move to standard processes in the SunGard Shared Service Centres.
* Manage and coordinate the presentation of forecasts and results with other Segment finance managers and the responsible business partners. Integrate regional budgets, forecasts and results with other International Distribution regions to allow a complete view of company operations in developing markets.
* Manage and develop local finance teams. Examine the existing finance organization and determine opportunities for improvement.
* Manage cash flow and liquidity. Assure compliance with local banking and foreign exchange laws
* Work closely with internal and external tax and auditors. Assure proper intercompany agreements are established and followed
* Coordinate activities with both local management and non-Chinese business units doing business in the country to ensure achievement of business goals for the business.
Position Requirements:
Knowledge/Experience:
Essential Experience Required;
* Prior work experience in multinational corporation in China, preferably with a US parent company
* Experience doing business in China
* Strong operational experience required.
* Proven record of championing compliance issues
* Experience working across multi-functional groups within a matrix organization
* Demonstrated management skills required to manage local finance and contracts teams
* Demonstrated ability to work with senior executive, sales, HR and developments teams, in a matrix based reporting structure
Desirable Experience Required;
Experience working in China and running a multinational organisation within the Chinese environments
* Prior experience with software revenue recognition and US GAAP accounting rules
CPA or equivalent desirable
Skills:

Qualifications:
* Broad financial experience, including leadership of a finance organization (preferably part of in China)
* 10 or more years recent experience in similar role ideally with a US software company or multinational company
* Unquestionable commitment to assuring compliance with local laws and company policies
