Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION
- Develop,apply and administrate Quality Management Systems in Asia Pacific.
- Develop,implement the strategies for Supply Quality Management.
- Develop, apply Quality Engineering methods in Asia Pacific,especially variability reduction techniques.
- Provide expertise and support for KOS implementation (direct line responsibility).
- Implement the KOS(Kohler Operating System) principles within all the Kohler Asia Pacific Group entities.
- Implement a team that will allow for teaching the KOS principles at all levels of the company.
- Coordinate and lead projects respecting their coherence to the development of KOS.
- Take over Vendor quality management system.
- Direct the activities of the Corrective Action Process group to reduce warranty.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement and maintain certification to ISO 9000 or QS 9000 Quality Management System as required, and ensure that the systems are used to drive improvement.
- Work cross-functionally (especially with Purchasing and Engineering) to define and execute Supplier Quality Management and Supplier Development strategies,with the goal of reducing variation (and cost ) in sourced materials.
- Develop Quality Assurance Engineers to monitor vendors and OEM suppliers.
- Directly lead KOS effort throughout Asia Pacific.
- Help drive the integration of Lean Manufacturing,Six Sigma Quality ,and Team-Based organization.
- Provide strategic guidance and management oversight in eliminating warranty problems.
- Lead and coordinate the actions of the CICs(Continuous Improvement Coordinators).
- Provide greater commnunication between the different departments and anticipate difficulties linked to the progressively integrated changes within the context of KOS.
- Collaborate with other quality professionals in each plant.
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS
Supervisory Relationships:
- Report to VP-Operations,K&B Asia when the position be hired
- Solid line supervise the Black Belt and QA Engineers of KCI; dotted line supervise all QA and KOS people of each plant.
Organization Relationships:
- Frequent contact with KOS Asia Pacific Team
- Frequent contact with Plant Managers and their staff
- Frequent contact with Asia Pacific Engineering and Purchasing
- Frequent contact with quality Network in Asia Pacific
External Business Relationships:
- Contact with customers and suppliers
- Contact with KOS outside consultants
Desired Skills & Experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Ø BS or MS,preferably in an Industrial Engineering field, minimum of 10
years managerial experience in Operations,Consulting,or Quality Management.
Ø Strong background in Quality Management,especially variability reduction and process improvement.
Ø Good background in Lean Manufacturing.
Ø Bilingual with fluent English skills.
Ø Black Belt preferred,but not required.
