Job description
- Provides direction and guidance for operations, administration and to ensure attainment of sales goals and objectives results for a major department or multiple departments within a function or geographic area for the software business.
- Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning.
- Collaborates with subordinate leadership to set strategy and business objectives.
- May influence the strategic and/or long-term focus for the function.
- Provides leadership and direction through lower-level leaders.
Ÿ Implements tactical and strategic change through subordinate leaders.


Ÿ Work is guided by functional strategy.
- Establishes operational objectives for leaders and/or teams of professionals across the sub-function.
- Implements policies and defines approach to strategy achievement for area managed.
- Decisions may impact overall business, but are mainly related to the department or work area.
Ÿ Provides authoritative advice to top leadership based on deep subject matter expertise.
Ÿ Accountable for related performance objectives.
Ÿ Initiates integrated business plans based on senior leadership strategy.

Ÿ Leads a team of leaders responsible for carrying out the objectives of the department or work area for the software business.
- Leads teams in understanding the link between Dell objectives and their contributions.
- Develops budgets, schedules and performance requirements.
Ÿ Builds long-term development and succession plans.
Ÿ Applies influence and negotiation skills to drive business results.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders both internal and external.
- Serves as important liaison to external contacts (customers and vendors).
Ÿ Assumes responsibility for sales objectives.

Ÿ Guided by long term objectives and business requirements.
Ÿ Analyzes long-term impact of new or anticipated strategies and decisions.
Ÿ Leads teams to solve abstract problems without precedent.

· Diagnoses and resolves ambiguous problems.
· Leads rigorous process and service improvement programs.

· Directly manages field based individual contributors and subordinate leaders.
· May manage Inside Sales Managers and their teams.
· Strategically leads enterprise sales for field organization.
· Drives strategic account management and pipeline development.
· Leads team’s business acumen and customer knowledge.
· Develops and trains account executives.
· Mentors entry level Regional Sales Managers.
· Manages complex accounts and/or account teams.
· Senior level Regional Sales Manager.
· Executes Strategy.
· May have country manager or site lead responsibilities.

· Largest financial software targets.
· Typically has subordinate managers and senior level individual contributors as direct reports
· Manages team of 8+ staff.

· 10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
· 8+ years leadership experience.

· In-depth understanding of customer/industry climate
· High level of solutions and technical knowledge.

Undergraduate degree and 10+ years relevant experience or Graduate degree and 8+ years relevant experience.
