Job’s Purpose
The GCR Finance Director, FP&A role is the right hand of the GCR CFO and the 2nd most senior role in the Area Finance Organization.
Directly reporting to the GCR CFO and identified as the business partner of the GCR M&O Lead, the FP&A Director owns and is directly accountable for the Subsidiary’s finance processes and P&L (management). His/her team will deliver crisp, timely and challenging business support for the subsidiary and share this with the Subsidiary Leadership Team. The management scope is the complete Financial Control activity and the BG Controllers for the Sub. This role leads all key finance processes (budget, forecast, close, MYR, etc), and drives the collaboration for each process across the entire GCR Finance Team.
Leadership/Management: As a Finance people manager and Leader, the FP&A Director is accountable for developing and growing his/her team’s performance and potential.
Attract & Develop Talent: Assess talent needs for today and for the future; attract and develop diverse team members with the right skills and capabilities.
People Management of a senior team, in charge of the Subsidiary controllership. Accountable for hiring, developing, retaining and driving the performance of the FP&A team directly reporting to him/her.
Deliver Results through Teamwork: Work through others and across teams, aligning people and resources, establishing high standards of performance and creating a climate of mutual accountability that delivers expected business results.
Guardian of the strong collaboration across finance teams to drive key processes, as well as provide the insights, analysis and controls expected from Trusted Advisors in Finance.
Participates and drives projects within the AREA and with corporate stakeholders to enhance the role of finance (in direction of the Finance Vision principles; see Field Finance Playbook e.g.).

Business Insight: Senior trusted advisor of the Subsidiary SMSG LT, the Area SMSG Finance Lead, builds community with like roles in other subs, and corporate connections. The role promotes a culture of profitable growth by sharing/adopting best practices and being the trusted advisor role for the business.
Optimizes resources within AREA and drives review/analysis/benchmarks of the business execution performance on strategic activities.
Owns the performance management process: target setting, budgeting, forecasting, actual, variance and trend analysis.
Drives profitability and productivity, using Benchmarking activities, deep dive into business drivers and KPIs, provide guidance, challenge plans, and offer solutions.
Ensures an effective communication and understanding of the financial & business performance, and drives accordingly the decision making process (corrective plans).
Participates and influences business decisions thanks to their thorough knowledge of the strategy, business model, organization and market.
Business Excellence: The Area FP&A Director is the primary owner of the Business and associated rhythm. This role drives ROB and business performance reviews and turn insights into concrete improvement actions into the AREA sales execution. He/ she will improve business productivity through best practice sharing and ROI analysis.
SMSG Budget/Mid-year reviews/Month End and Quarterly Business Reviews: runs business rhythm in professional and predictable manner.
Execution owner with Global Procurement Group, Real Estate & Facilities (RE&F), One Finance, Tax, and collaborate with the Control & Compliance AREA lead to embed activities into the finance processes.
This role drives utilization of Core Finance to minimize the use of local reporting.
