Sr. Engineering Manager - Mobile Phone - Flextronics - Shenzhen
Job description
Primary Responsibility
1) Work as a technical contact window for customer and coordinate team members to solve all the issues
2) Participate in discussion for the mechanical and electronic issues together with customers and team numbers to fulfill the assigned project requirements
3) To be dialog partner for the customer and inner department in technical issues for mechanical and electronic parts
4) Pa Proficiency on product mechanical and electronic issue analysis, and perform failure analysis related to product issues
5) Involve in system test discussion together with customer and NPI team
6) Support on negotiating NPI contracts, schedules, costs (tooling & NPI cost) with customer
7) Monitor and manage JIT hub cost and service by maximizing the transportation, manpower and storage capacity.
8) As Assist the product engineering manager in providing technical leadership to the junior staff.
9) Work with design team to resolve design related issues and provide design support
10) Participate to cost reduction activities in areas like material, inventory, scrap reduction
11) Other related tasks assigned by the supervisor and respective functions.
Secondary Responsibility
1) Guide, motivate and develop teammates to maintain a high degree of efficiency which will lead to a successful product launch.
2) Coordinate with relevant function team to resolve on quality and other product engineering related matters.
3) Initiate and implement cost reduction and quality improvement activities.
4) Establish on-going training program for FMTS operation sites engineers
5) Drive continuous improvement programs
6) Main driver for recruiting technically competent engineers in the highly technical based environment
7) Provide technical training for internal team members
Desired Skills and Experience
Education Qualification
1)Minimum of a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering related
Knowledge & Skills
1)Knowledge of mobile phone manufacturing technology regarding molding, painting, assembly etc.
2)Lean concept and practice, master on assembly/machining process design
3)Proven technical leadership, communication skill
4)Ability to diagnose problems & conflict
5)Fluency in both written and spoken English
Personal Attributes
1)Common sense, social confidence and industrial maturity
2)self-motivated, resourceful and a good team-player
3)Open-minded
Experience
1)At least minimum of 5 years experience in engineering management or relevant management experiences
2)At least 3 years experience in mobile phone industry and begin to be recognized for expertise
