Job Description
• Interface and associate the organization and Management of existing and potential new Suppliers
• Participate in supplier sourcing and lead the quality related aspects in this process
• Lead and take part in Supplier assessment teams, qualify and disqualify the supplier based on capability and compliance to quality process
• Give input for, and participates in negotiations on Quality clauses, legal agreements and deploy the supplier quality manual where applicable
• Drive Supplier ownership of quality at all stages of the engagement
• Educate the Suppliers on quality and continuous improvement tools and processes
• Ensure all mechanicals commodity suppliers conform to the Quality requirements starting at supplier induction
• Manage programs increasing supplier capability in line with desired capability having commodity strategy as an input
• Quarterly review of supplier performance in participate with GCMs
• Provide input for further fine tuning of the supplier selection process
• Manage a team of supplier process engineers, to include coaching, skills evaluation, personal and professional development, and mentoring
• Coordinate special, quality related projects across suppliers
• Gather weekly, monthly & quarterly performance reporting (metrics) and communicate trends to managers
• Manage the assessment/audit planning for the supply base of the commodity (included are all audit types)
• Develop standard processes and procedures with effective implementation
Desired Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanicals Engineering with 15+ yrs in design, tooling, manufacturing, and other relevant experience, 10+ years as a solid line people manager
• Excellent inter-personal skills
• Working in virtual teams
• Competency in statistical methods, quality tools and methodologies ( QFD, CtQ breakdown, DFSS, SPC, AQP, FMEA, Control Plan)
• Six Sigma GB/ BB and Lean certification preferred
• Highly motivated, action oriented, persistent towards accomplishing tasks and drives for success
• Ability to communicate well, oral and written, in English and Mandarin
• Sense of urgency
• Cross functional skills/ experience and awareness of business requirements
• Auditing Skills preferred to possess Lead Assessor/Auditor certification
• Strong ability on design, tooling, optimization to improve yield
• Excellent leadership skill and demonstrate a high standard competence
