Amazon RCX (Retail Customer Experience) team is focus on improving the core shopping experience on 8 Amazon websites in the world. We are looking for outstanding Software Development Engineer who combines superb technical, communication and analytical skills. As an SDE in RCX team, you will work closely with different teams located in different countries, you need always consider high availability and large scalability when building the software in this team because your valuable work will impact millions of Amazon customers. Remember, they are not just China customers. When developing a new feature on Amazon website, we prefer building an end-to-end system, that means website is only one part, we will own the related backend service and metrics system as well.
Desired Skills & Experience
Basic Qualifications
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related field, and 3+ years relevant work experience
- A deep understanding to object-oriented design and programming
- Proficient in building software applications in Java and/or Perl, preferably in a Unix/Linux environment
- Solid RDBMS experience, familiar with SQL
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, Unit testing and functional testing
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin and English
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with agile development methodologies
- Thorough understanding of Service Oriented Architectures
- Familiar with JavaScript, AJAX, CSS and related website development knowledge
- Master at least one script language, such as shell, Perl or Python
