Nokia Business Development Regional Director - Eurasia Region

REPORTING TO: Tanya Blair Riebeling, General Manager, Nokia

Are you a seasoned strategic business development manager who is passionate about working with partners and wants to help ensure the success of our strategic partnership with Nokia? This is an exciting opportunity to influence and drive our strategic partnership with Nokia to combine the strengths of our two companies, and fuel our growth as we build the global Windows Phone ecosystem. Primary objective of this role is to own and manage executive and management-level relationships between Microsoft and Nokia to offer Windows & WP7 software on their hardware products globally.


As a Regional Director of OEM's Nokia Alliance Business Development, your responsibilities will include:

Manage the alliance between Microsoft OEM and Nokia, the charter of which is to operationalize the management of the alliance to ensure successful execution of the joint strategic objectives focused on a variety of smart devices.

Work with the executive management to build an effective and efficient rhythm of the business (ROB) and governance structure.

Operationalize channel distribution, sales and marketing efforts to drive sell thru in Key developing markets including: China, Russia, India and other Asia region priority markets.

Accelerate current volumes and identify new business opportunities in the region that leverage the partnership.

Build and manage a performance monitoring system to ensure accountability.

Build deep relationships with Nokia counterparts and ensure effective cross-company collaboration, communication and alignment.

Design and implement the infrastructure necessary to accomplish the responsibilities above.

Qualifications:

8 - 10 years of business experience in high-tech, with relevant domain expertise in strategic alliance management and product management with demonstrated success in driving global initiatives.

MBA or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience in telecom industry and prior dealings with the operator channel preferred.

Ability to work with different cultures and disciplines.

Strong project management skills with an ability to effectively run multi-functional virtual teams, navigate highly matrixed organizations, and drive for results through an influence model.

Contacts:

You will have frequent contact with all levels of management within MS and Nokia; from sales and product management to senior executive management. You will also need to build relationships with other OEM's and ODM customers and Government Officials.

Skills/Abilities: Proven track record managing and leading sales teams; Experience in managing teams that are distributed across large geographic boundaries; Strong sales and negotiations skills; Industry and technical marketing level knowledge of PC hardware, Smart Phones and other smart devices, systems software, applications and peripherals; Working knowledge of PC/Phone sales/distributions channels and PC/Phone assembly operations; Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit; Strong written/oral communication and presentation skills; Good understanding of licensing/legal contracts; Work under continual deadline constraints.
