POSITION OBJECTIVE
Position description: Overall responsibility for all Cut and Sew, Fabric and Leather manufacturing Operations is Asia which includes employee safety, customer quality, on time delivery, cost control and environmental stewardship. This position is also responsible for the inventory control functions and provides support to production scheduling to assure production schedules and customer requirements are met.
This role will work closely with the Global Trim team to assure collaboration on global projects, sharing of Best Practices. Also responsible for inventory control functions and provides support to production scheduling on all material flow issues to meet production schedules and customer requirements. This position will work very closely with the business development, R&D and design teams to assure the operation has the capacity and technology to meet the LRP objectives and execute flawless launch performance.

Generally supervises others responsible for policy development and implementation. Exercises broad judgment and decision-making authority having a major impact on the business of the Company. Develop and implement the operating plans, strategies, and systems necessary to successfully meet Lear’s financial, operating, and customer service goals

POSITION KEY FUNCTIONS

Development and execution of Asia Trim Strategy. Develop and administer policies and procedures that ensure effective and efficient trim operations. Serves as part of the management team and has significant involvement in planning for broad issues affecting the business.
Responsible for all trim operations matters in Asia. Maintains overall supervision and direction of the region’s operation functions working closely and coordinating with the regional operation leaders. Responsible for coordinating all activities required to support Asia Trim Operation.
Execute long-term and short-term manufacturing plans for Asia Trim operations. Formalize actions and coordinate operations activities with other functions.
Lead organizational development activities within operations to ensure a proper organizational structure is in place and that the necessary training and development is taking place to support the growth and continuous improvement of businesses in Asia.
Manage and support P&L responsibility per the targets given by management team.
Drive Back to Basics (Lean Manufacturing) and 6 Sigma activities at the plants through personal leadership, education of the workforce and implementation of Lear’s global Continuous Improvement initiatives such as Best Practices and OEA Assessments,
Develop, track, and implement key asset management controls in individual plant operations including formal planning and control of capital spending and the continuous improvement of inventory level required by the operations.
Establish and actively manage operation excellence plans (finance, operations and quality) and monitor execution.
Support environmental compliance in all operations.
Compliance with customer expectations, regulations and quality standards, government laws.
Ensure that the Safety and Health Committees at each location is organized and functioning in accordance to the Government legislation and requirements, and support its activities to assure that effective safety and health programs are maintained.
Develop effective policies and procedures at all key operational interfaces, including control and release of engineering documentation, control and reporting of financial/cost data, and procedures for communication of status to customers on either product pricing or program status.
Drive operational performance and established KPIs and demand productivity improvements.
Assist in the transfer of customer programs, processes, and technology between regions, departments or operations.
Management of labor relations with employees and union.
Hiring and developing talent and maintain programs of succession and progression.

Position’s Qualifications

EDUCATION

BS/BA or equivalent degree required. MS/MBA preferred.

Prefer Degree in Engineering

EXPERIENCE

10 years overall operations management experience, with at least 5 years in a similar position. Experience of operating in the automotive industry will be an added advantage. Regional exposure in Asia Region.
